The Masquerade Flight

During the Covid-19 outbreak, the Chinese government introduced complicated international flight policies; it is tough to get a ticket even at very high prices, resulting in thousands of overseas students stuck outside China. Compared with other international issues during the pandemic such as unequal resource allocation and racial hate, the difficulties of overseas students returning home and the growing 'overseas student hate' on Chinese social media have not received widespread attention and support.

As one of the overseas students, I wanted to convey the actual situation to the public through this project based on my experience of returning to China during the summer break to call for minority groups (overseas students). Besides, I remained neutral throughout the story, hoping to arouse people's reflection on the balance between individualism and collectivism during the epidemic and post-epidemic era in an impartial way.
